Rafting (REGISTRATION FOR THIS YEARS TRIP ENDS MAY 1, 2009)

We are offering 2 trips for members, the upper and middle Ocoee. Both leave and arrive at the same time, the differences are listed below. Trips are filled on a first come-first served basis. Registration ends at midnight on May 1, 2009.
All Day May 31st-Middle Ocoee River (Ages 12+)
(This trip has a total of 6 seats)The Middle Ocoee features more than twenty rapids to get your adrenaline pumping. Middle Ocoee is undoubtedly the most exciting section of the river for beginners as it offers nearly 5-miles of continuous water-tumbling fun. The average gradient for the Middle section is 30 feet per mile, offering class III and IV rapids and the a fast whitewater current. A further description of the rapids can be found on the Tennessee Class III-V Page. The Middle Ocoee is quite popular, attracting more than 200,000 rafters annually.

All Day May 31st-UPPER Ocoee River (Ages 14+)
(This trip has a total of 6 seats)The Upper Ocoee is a 5-mile stretch that beings slowly, offering beautiful views of the mountain scenery, but quickly gains speed for the challenging Class IV and V rapids. The Upper features an average gradient of 50 feet per mile demanding a rapid race to the Middle Ocoee. The Upper Ocoee is for the experienced guides and thrill-seeking guests.
The Upper Ocoee was the former site of the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympic whitewater events. The intensity of the controlled dam waters made Ocoee the idea location for the challenging competition. The Olympics course is the main attraction of the Ocoee River, and is located below Ocoee Dam number 3.
